Peter Gordon is a York born playwright. His stage plays have been performed world-wide with tremendous success. Perhaps his best known play to date is the 'whodunnit' spoof, 'Murdered to Death', which has now had over 600 productions world-wide, from the USA to Australia. The sequels, 'Secondary Cause of Death' and 'Death By Fatal Murder', both featuring the incompetent Inspector Pratt, are proving to be equally popular.

Full Length Plays

Murdered to Death: Comedy/Murder/Whodunnit. Cast: 5 male, 5 female. Available for performance now. This hilarious spoof of the "whodunit" genre, featuring the incompetent Inspector Pratt, has had acclaimed professional productions in the UK and USA.  It has had over 600amateur productions world-wide.

Secondary Cause of Death: Comedy/Murder/Whodunnit. Cast: 3 male, 6 female.  Available for performance now. The sequel to 'Murdered to Death' and this time the bodies pile even higher as Inspector Pratt investigates. Enjoyed a highly successful professional production in the USA in 2008.

Death by Fatal Murder: Comedy/Murder/Whodunnit. Cast: 4 male, 4 female.  Available for performance now. Pratt is back to cause more chaos and confusion. 
 
Out of Focus: Comedy. Cast: 4 male, 5 female. Available for performance now. A Church Hall is treble-booked. The result is mayhem. 
 
Seeds of Doubt: Comedy. Cast: 3 male, 3 female.  Available for performance now. Alan just wants a peaceful life, tending his garden. Not with neighbours like his! 
  
Generations Apart: Comedy. Casting: Flexible with maximum of 4 male, 4 female. Available for performance now. A poignant and humorous look at how the events of a music festival in 1969 affect three generations of the same family. 
   
Third Week in August: Comedy. Cast: 2 male, 4 female.  Available for performance now. The caravan site from hell! A production of this play will take place at the famous outdoor Minnack Theatre in early September 2009. 
 
The Reunion: Comedy. Cast: 4 male, 4 female. Available soon. It's good to meet up with those old friends again after so many years .... or is it! 
 
Wild Card: Thriller. Cast: 2 male, 1 female. Available soon. A tense psychological thriller set in a country cottage, where obsession runs out of control.

Current Projects:

Peter is writing a new comedy play and a new musical adaptation of 'Generations Apart' (see 'Musicals'). He is also working on a screenplay in collaboration with crime fiction author, Frank Muir.
